What people are saying:
“It was a pleasure to be part of this wonderful conference of the Grandmothers of the We. During my adult-life journey I have participated in many opportunities for personal growth. To be in the presence of these incredible women was definitely a highlight. We each got to interact one-on-one for a personal session. To have such wisdom and insight to help others was truly a blessing. This is a personal experience that I am grateful to have had.” Terri
“I had the privilege of attending the Grandmothers of the Sacred We event hosted by Sky View Retreat Center last fall. I had no idea what to expect but felt a pull to be there. I struggle to find words, as it was the experience that was powerful, and words only describe. Spirit worked through each Grandmother in a unique way. Each woman provided a tool or a practice to integrate into my spiritual walk. And I know, from speaking to others who attended, we all took home different treasures. As we are all in different places, different lessons resonated. But as a whole... We all found what was needed. WE are whole individually and part of a whole collectively. Truly, I encourage you, if you are curious, come and experience for yourself. As a dear teacher in my life is fond of saying, ‘May it be nothing you expect, and everything you need.’” Rebecca
“Experiencing the Grand Mothers of the Sacred We is like coming home again. The minute you are in their presence, you sense a feeling of being grounded like never before. I left there feeling empowered in my own sense of self but also what it means to understand the ground that we walk on every day of our life. With all that is happening in the world today it is nice to come back to the roots of our society. Empowering people in these ways gives each soul a sense of relief in mind and body. Respect flows through all the directions of your life. If you want to slow down and feel your sense of self and all that surrounds us, you need to take part in this experience of a lifetime. To this day I still feel the Grand Mothers with me in all parts of my life.” Linda
"It is hard to express what feelings I have about the Grandmothers. Even though I knew nothing about them before the event, I felt a strong calling to attend and meet these healing, wise women. I have been changed by being in their presence and feeling their love and wisdom. I have lowered my stress, changed my negative view of the world, and realized my own power as a gateway to love, no matter what circumstances I may have started from. It's such a simple concept, but to truly feel it from these wise women makes all the difference." Monica
“I had the great honor and privilege of attending The Grandmothers of The Sacred We Gathering at The Sky View Retreat Center, in September of 2017. These completely approachable Wise Women shared their wisdom and sorrows, their Truths and Compassion in an inspirational and beautiful Retreat Center. Surrounded by acres of land and forest, with happy, grazing therapy horses, the warm and inviting gathering space was the perfect place to hold the seminar. Wonderful hosts, Chris and Laura, planned a thoughtful spiritual agenda that gently led us into the teachings each Grandmother had to impart. Real connections were made by everyone, and any event held or attended here will be greatly enjoyed by all!” Kristina
“In the fall of 2017 we attended a gathering with the Grandmothers at the Sky View Retreat Center. Attending with an open and curious heart and mind. The 2-day event was a wonderful life experience. As it offered us connection with likeminded and heart-centered people, powerful sharing and stories, with some tears, along with lots of laughter and hugs.
The group interactions and exercises were powerful and thought provoking. The honesty, openness and authenticity of the Grandmothers, each with their own personal style and way of being was a real and refreshing treat. This paved the way for us participants to be real and vulnerable as well, in a safe and supportive group container.
The Grandmother's messages are down to earth, full of passion and wisdom, within being a hoot to keep the group dynamics light, while discussing the serious and important issues that impact our planet and humanity.
It’s on our calendar to experience the message of the grandmothers and connect with the group again this fall. See you in September.” David & Terese
“So much love and wisdom were shared on this event!
I never thought I could meet 6 grandmothers from completely different backgrounds on one weekend in my life!
I felt that the universe has an interesting way of weaving the connection between people.
This event made me realize that aging is a beautiful thing if you can pick up wisdom along the way.
I would like to be mindful of that in my everyday life.
Thank you, Laura, for putting the event together.
(Laura's horses and a mule are awesome, too!).” Yoshi
“It is truly an honor for me to write briefly about my experience at the retreat with the Grandmothers last year at Sky View Retreat Center. The depths of giving and receiving while being there were priceless…and the many gifts of the retreat continue to feel present and inspire the shifts I have made and am making in my life.
The setting was a perfect container for all that transpired. The large group sharing, the intimate small group interactions, and the times of one on one and alone were so balanced. The entire flow of activities offered a nurturing space for in-depth exploration personally and with others. Healing and a deeper awareness of the need to attend to and honor our inner/outer nature permeated everything we did. Being with so many likeminded and compassionate friends contributed to a very powerful internal implanting of all we shared regarding our lives and that of the planet. Our feelings, thoughts, and visions were heard and respected.
Along with the sharing and activities, there was an additional “silent” and priceless gift that I received from the Grandmothers. In their presence, I felt more deeply entrained to a sense of natural embodiment of a true self aligned with a true path. Frequently I find myself strengthened and more clear about my personal path as I recall and internalize this embodied feeling of wholeness that I felt from them…..and I continue to feel challenged by the call to show up authentically in my life.
To the Grandmothers, to all those who worked to create this beautiful retreat, and to all who attended, I am most grateful for the profound gifts of relationships, awarenesses, and visions that arose. Also, I would be remiss not to mention the deep appreciation and respect that I felt for the dear animals and wonderful natural environment that held space with and supported us!
I would strongly suggest that you give yourself a powerful and precious gift of kinship, inspiration, and shift and attend the Grandmothers’ Retreat this year!
Aho Mitakuye Oyasın!” Vi
“I had the privilege of attending a one-day intensive retreat on the lakeshore with the Grandmothers of the Sacred We in 2017. What an absolute honor to be in their presence. The Grandmother’s rooted energy is palpable and makes you feel immediately at ease. The wisdom they share touches you in a way that is almost beyond words. I had a wonderful experience, learning about myself, my roots and ancestors and truly who I am and what makes me thrive. The motherly energy in the room is comforting and I felt at home with them. I am thrilled to be able to spend more time with the Grandmother’s when they return in 2018. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone that is able to have it. If you are drawn in any way to learn from these amazing women, listen to your intuition and do it. It will change your life!” Kelly
“The 'Grandmothers of the Sacred We' event, hosted at the lovely Sky View Retreat Center was a healing and inspiring weekend for me. I enjoyed meeting and learning from each delightful and wise Grandmother. I especially appreciated their ability to express their own truth and share their own life experiences and spiritual development in an earnest and deeply personal way. The weekend participants came away from the event feeling a connection to each of the Grandmothers. Their stories and teachings were encouraging, strengthening and hopeful. A wonderful sense of community, comfort and beauty pervaded the atmosphere during our time together.” Jane
“Last year when a friend told me the Grandmothers of the Sacred We were coming to West Michigan, I knew I had to be a part of it. It was an extraordinary experience on a very personal level. Connecting with these very wise women, confirming my belief that we are all one, and the Earth is truly our Mother, made the retreat weekend a very moving experience. I am thrilled that they are returning in September and I am looking forward to seeing them and the many friends I met last year.” Shirley
“Seeking deeper meaning and purpose for my life, I have spent 22 years in the process of what I call 'chasing the discovery.' When I had the opportunity to sit with the Grandmothers, I instinctually knew the time would be well spent. For the first time ever, it brought about a deep sense of knowing that I AM all that I have been in search of and the Divine spark within is no longer just an ember but an expanded transformational flame. In the days and months that have past, I have been able to shift myself, expand and embrace the essence of who I am. Better still, I feel more at ease with speaking my truth about who I am and finding my place among the 'Oneness' that has proved to be a vital piece to the evolution of my work as an energy healer, massage therapist, artist and gardener; all of which has deepened the cultivation of my own spiritual expansion.” Pamela
"For quite awhile , since the campaigning... i was feeling so much anger...i was told of the grandmothers and my intuition spoke immediately and i just had to go...not knowing what to expect, i was overwhelmed with feelings of love, encouragement, releasing...especially through breathing and allowing positive thoughts to prevail in my mind...many beautiful people were there and the immediate sense of community was comforting...i still get some anger over what is happening in our crazy world and how we are not good to mother earth...so i breath as i was taught and remember grandmother's words that mother earth is angry as well, but she will survive...she is strong, as are we."
